Residents of Adenta Housing-Down in Adenta Municipality of Greater Accra region are crying to government and other authorities to come to their aid and expand their main bridge with immediate effect to avoid any tragedy.
According to one Mr Alexander Kwame Agbleze a the residents and an opinion leader who spoke to MyNewsGh.com, the bridge is too small and any time it rains, the whole area gets flooded easily because it is the only bridge that links all water from Adenta barrier, station, Kpotsikope, SSNIT Flats, Fafraha and its environs to the other side.
“We are appealing to the government to come to our aid and expand the bridge for us”. He said
Mr Alexander Kwame Agbleze narrated their displeasure with the devastating nature of the bridge in an interview with MyNewsGh.com and explained how he and one Osofomaame have been organizing some youth very often to remove garbage from the bridge to allow smooth flow in order to avert any eventualities but due to its small size.
The bridge is now a death trap for drivers, commuters, residents and even pedestrians that apply the road.
MyNewsGh.com can confirm the bridge is very close to the Superior Gas filling station and the running water from is about washing away soil under the station’s gas tankers.
This fuel station is not an exception when the area gets flooded, a situation which makes the people living in fear and panic especially when they remember the June 3, 2015 disaster at Circle.
