The controversy surrounding President Mahama’s decision to remain in the original vice-presidential quarters has not died down and still in debate.

Earlier this week, news broke of former President Mahama’s notice to use the bungalow which is located in Cantoments as his retirement home, and this has caused quite the stir with many Ghanaians.

However, in a statement by the former president, he said the new vice-president Dr. Mahamdu Bawumia “is expected to take up residence in the House known as Australia House, which was previously occupied by former Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur.

Many stakeholders have expressed their thoughts on the matter, especially supporters of the ruling NPP, demanding Mahama not be allowed to remain at the residence.

While the team from the former president Mahama’s side have stated that the decision to have him remain in the Cantoments bungalow was already discussed during the transition meeting, and the decision was made, many are still demanding that it goes against the constitution and should not be allowed.

So far, the whether former president Mahama will still remain in the vice-presidential residence is not fully confirmed. However, the above photos are of the said Australia House, in which Vice-president Bawumia is supposedly meant to occupy.
