Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt has blamed vice president Dr Mahamudu Bawumia over the recent armed robbery attacks in the country.
He challenged him to ensure the safety of Ghanaians.
He said Dr Bawumia must be bold to deal with robbery attacks on the innocent Ghanaians because he [Bawumia] has answers to every problem facing the country.
“During 2016 general election campaign, Dr. Bawumia appeared to be having answers for everything…so it would be a great pity for him if he cannot find answers to the robbery attacks that Ghanaians are currently experiencing under his watch,” he noted.
Speaking on Accra-based Radio Gold, he said “It will be a great pity if Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is unable to resolve this matter, because, two years ago, this was Mr know all. He knows everything. He has answers for everything and so on. This is the brain box. Now he is in power, police service has been assigned to you.”
Reports of robbery attacks in Accra and Tema in the Greater Accra Region have generated public debate about the ability of the police to protect lives and properties.
Chapter fifteen of the Constitution indicates that there shall be established Police Council which shall consist of the Vice-President as the chairman.
