The member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has blamed Ghana’s slow growth and development on indiscipline.
When featured as a guest on Adom TV’s morning show, “Badwam” on Tuesday 26th December 2017, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) legislator claimed that the canker is destroying every facet of the lives of Africans, especially Ghanaians.
In order to correct the anomaly, he called for an attitudinal change which would help reestablish sanity in the systems of developing countries like Ghana.
He referred to the late reggae musician, Bob Marley’s famous statement that he had no fear for atomic energy as it could do little to stop the time.
There is the need to emancipate ourselves from mental slavery, he added.
The popular lawmaker also stated that foreign influence has prevented lots of Africans from achieving their dreams.
He added, to his surprise, it appears as if no amount of persuasion can cause some people to change from their preconceived perceptions.
“Africans and for that matter, Ghanaians have failed to live up to their expectations up till now because we have sold ourselves to the Whites.
They may even deny something they see with their own eyes,” he argued.
He however called on Ghanaians to build on the legacy bestowed on them by forefathers to build a better Ghana for the future.
According to him, it is possible to make Ghana the place we want it to be if we contribute our quota to its development
