Felix robbed Godsway of his Samsung Galaxy A5 mobile phone, worth GH¢ 1,200.00 and shot him on the left rib with a foreign pistol.
An Accra Circuit Court on Thursday handed a 24-year jail term to one Felix Kofi Boakye, unemployed who appeared before it for robbing one Godsway Agbenowoko at gun point.
He pleaded guilty to the charge and was convicted on his own plea by the court presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh.
The facts of the case as presented by Police Chief Inspector Kwabena Adu was, the complainant is a Real Estate agent and lives at Ashalley Botwe, while the convict is unemployed and lives at Pig farm.
He said on February 14, at about 1230 hours, the complainant went on a business trip at A.R.S, a suburb of Ogbojo in Accra. In the course of the journey, he met the convict on a motorbike heading towards him and when he rode closer to the complainant, he pulled out a foreign pistol, and pointed it at his forehead and took his mobile phone.
The prosecution said the complainant sensing danger started running and shouting, but Felix followed him, shot him on the left rib, and rode off on his motorbike with the mobile phone.
Mr Adu told the court that, on February 19, at about 1330 hours, the convict again armed with a pistol attacked a mobile money agent who also sells phone cards at Akosombo junction, a suburb of Madina and snatched his bag containing money and recharge cards, but luck eluded him and was overpowered by a mob who nearly lynched him.
He said the Madina District Patrol team on their normal patrol arrived at the scene and rescued the convict and took him to the station.
The complainant upon hearing the arrest of Felix rushed to the station and identified him to be the same person who robbed and shot at him.
The prosecution said, the convict, in his investigation caution statement admitted the offence and later led the police to the crime scene and pointed out the spot he robbed and shot the complainant.
