Young Boy Donates GHc450 From Susu Savings To Support Needy Students

The Citi Opportunity Project on Education (COPE) has been receiving donations from different people and companies over the years, but the singular act of an 11-year-old boy donating his over two years ‘susu’ savings to help the cause has really caught the eye.

The young pupil from the Roman Ridge School in Accra, named Kekeli Eni, apparently has a susu box where he saves his coins from the monies he received from his guardians.

And he decided to donate every coin he has saved over the last two years to support students who are very brilliant but are lacking the financial backing to further their educations.

Kekeli’s father made the donation on his behalf after he himself had made his donations towards the initiative.

COPE is an initiative by Citi FM which seeks to raise funds to give hope to students across Ghana who, one way or the other, struggle to continue with their education due to financial difficulties.
In 2016 the first edition was launched, with the programme going on to help fund the education of 22 students so far.

This year the target is to be able to raise about GHc250,000 to help 50 deprived students enroll in the university to further their education.
