Police Officer Caught Stealing While Securing A Bank Loan

A Ghanaian police officer, Ebenezer Ankamah was arrested for allegedly stealing two mobile phones belonging to staff of a financial institution in Bolgatanga.

He was there to secure a loan but ended stealing the phones belonging to two employees processing his request. Unfortunately, he was caught in the act on the CCTV camera.

The phones he stole were a Samsung Galaxy J7 and Tecno L8 plus. The phones belonged to Albert Asina and Richard Saviour, the officers who were processing his loan request.

He sneaked out after the act but the CCTV camera in the bank gave him away when after playback he was captured stealing the phones.

The Bolgatanga manager of Bayport, Robert Osei Darko then lodged an official complaint with the police.

Ankamah, who was originally stationed at Navrongo and had been transferred to the Eastern Regional Rapid Unit in Koforidua had fled and was only arrested at his new station.

After his arrest, he admitted to the wrongdoing and took police to the Accra lorry station in Koforidua where he allegedly sold the phones however the purchaser was mysteriously gone.

He was later conveyed to the Bolgatanga station and is being confined for investigations.
