Former Asante Kotoko midfielder, Daniel Nii Adjei has given the clearest indication that he is not disappointed about Kwesi Appiah’s consistent snub.
The TP Mazembe player has produced some electric performance for the past two years helping the club to clinch the CAF Confederations Cup twice on a role.
Kwesi Appiah who is currently accessing players ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon has failed to hand a call-up to the energetic midfield dynamo but Nii Adjei says he is not worried about the consistent snub but he will continue to improve his form with Mazembe.
Speaking to Class Sports on Monday, he said, “I am not disappointed about the consistent snub. The most important thing for me is to keep on working hard for my team and try to cement my place in the team so that I will get the chance to do more for them.
“Black Stars is a plus and if I get the call up it is a plus to me but I don’t have to think that I have to get a call-up to the team and if I don’t get I will be disappointed. I am trying my best to improve on my form and work very hard for my team because that is where I get my daily bread so it is important I keep on working hard but I will not be disappointed if I don’t get a call to the national team.”
After TP Mazembe defeated Supersports United by 2:1 to win the CAF Confederations Cup for the second time on Saturday, Nii Adjei says he is happy with the team and he is not thinking of leaving the club.
“I feel very great to be part of this team because it is a team that is always planning of winning trophies and if you are in a team like this you are always happy and you never think of leaving. You are always motivated to do more for the club because they have plans of winning every championship.”
