The Ketu South Municipal Assembly has honoured students, teachers and schools with certificates and cash prizes to mark this year’s Independence Day celebration.
Some students and teachers also received laptops and fridges as motivation for their contributions to education in the Municipality.
Mr Elliot Agbenorwu, the Municipal Chief Executive, said the gesture was to demonstrate the Assembly’s commitment to education.
He said in line with this year’s Independence Anniversary theme of: “Ghana Beyond Aid”, the Assembly was equipping schools with furniture and other teaching and learning materials.
About 7,440 pupils and students took part in the anniversary parade in 12 centres in the Municipality.
