A bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of the Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies, Joseph Siaw Agyepong by a Kumasi High Court.
The business mogul has been cited for contempt for his absenteeism in the past and subsequently the court has issued a bench warrant for his arrest.
Siaw Agyepong has been absent from court in a case involving his firm J.A Plant Pool and a creditor Alhaji Abass. The business mogul has been cited for contempt for his absenteeism in the past and subsequently the court has issued a bench warrant for his arrest.
Alhaji Abbas had secured a judgement against J.A Plant in the region of 1,350,000 cedis for the wrongful detention of his vehicle. The court judgment led to the closure of the offices of J.A Plant Pool in Accra but Siaw flouted the orders and still operated on the premises.
Mr Abass immediately filed an application in court citing the Executive Chairman, Mr Joseph Siaw Agyapong, the manager Mr Patrick Asagba as well as the lawyer himself (who swore an affidavit himself on behalf of the Company), for contempt of court.
The case was listed for hearing on February 13, 2018, however, when the case was called Joseph Siaw Agyapong (JOSPONG) despite being served by substituted service did not attend court today.
The court subsequently on application by counsel for the Applicant, Kwame Adofo issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Joseph Siaw Agyapong.
