Renowned Ghanaian pugilist, Braimah Kamoko, better known as Bukom Banku, has declared his intention to contest as a flagbearer in the 2020 presidential elections.
According to him, he would represent the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the next polls.
The famous boxer, who suffered his defeat at the hands of Bastie Samir, claimed that the presidency is more about physical strength and less about literacy.
Unsatisfied with his loss, he reportedly called for a rematch, a wish that is yet to materialize.
Information available to us however shows that he received GHc50,000 as his fee for the match with Samir.
In a discussion with Amewugah Evans, the sports host on SVTV Africa, Bukom Banku revealed that he intends to run on the ticket of the NDC, simply because he is a member of the party.
Banku lost his unbeaten record to Bastie “The Beast” Samir on October 21,2017 by technical knockout in the 7th round of their cruiserweight bout at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
Prior to the fight, he had under his belt, a 29-bout winning run, but could not stand the power of his younger opponent.
